• Brazil is the perfect place to learn to kite. With shallow lagoons and very consistent wind, this is an ideal beginners zone. There are very few waves to compete with and so many flat water spots that you will be up and riding confidently in no time. 
• Brazil is known for being affordable without being too rustic. The accommodations in the area range from good quality to luxury and there is plenty of infrastructure, even in the small beach towns. You can find restaurants, and even night life in Jericoacoara. 
• Rent a 4x4 vehicle if you plan to travel in country. There are plenty of trucks and small SUVs for rent for getting between beach towns. But, if you plan to stay in one location, many of the hotels and lodges offer free ground transportation as part of your stay. For the kite schools, they may also provide buggies or boat taxis for getting between spots. You may have seen pictures of trucks and offroad vehicles cruising up and down the beach packed with kite gear. It's a fun experience to travel by beach buggie that makes this place unique. 
• Don't worry about packing a wetsuit in the high season. The water all along the coast is pretty warm. At most, you might want a 3/2 or shorty, but odds are you'll be packing board shorts or swimsuits only. Consistent, high winds and delightful temperatures are why this place is called "kite heaven" from July through January.  This also means you can leave your bigger kites at home. 

What makes Brazil special is the consistent wind and warm temperatures of the high season. Combine this with an astounding number of flat water spots and shallow waters and you'll understand why Brazil is the perfect place to learn how to kiteboard. Beginner lessons are available in Taiba, Cumbuco, Jericoacoara, Barra Nova and more. For expert riders there are plenty of things to keep you happy. The strong wind makes for ideal beach side sessions and there are many opportunities for downwinders between locations to hit multiple spots in a single day. 

Wind is almost guaranteed in the high season. Near Fortaleza, you'll get consistent 15 - 30 knots most days, and further north the wind can get up to 40 knots. The warm weather and warm water means no need to pack your wetsuit. There are plenty of kite schools and camps right near the prime spots if you are looking for lessons or gear rentals. 

One of the most unique experiences the Brazil has to offer kiters is the beach buggy excursion. Renting a buggy or truck can get you access to several different spots by driving along the beach. You'll save time instead of going inland to main roads and its a cool way to get between locations. You'll find deserted spots with fewer people and amazing wind by taking this approach. Beach buggies can also act as support vehicles for longer downwinders. 

Explore Barra Nova, Parajuru, Macau, Galinhos, Sao Miguel do Gostoso or Tibau do Sul just to name a few. Daily downwinder tours are also available. Downwinders can starts a low as Barra Nova and end as far as Jericoacoara or Cumbuco which is almost 600km long!
