Know Before You Go

Insider tips and perks for your trip to Morocco, curated by our experts.

Tips

Tips for Your Trip

  • Visit during the best surf season, which is generally from October to April. The earlier part of the season, from September to October, is great for surfing almost everywhere along the Atlantic Coast. If you want to surf in the summer, Rabat and Safi typically offer the best waves.
  • Take out international travel insurance that covers any medical expenses and offers assistance 24 hours a day before you leave. In addition to health insurance, it is advisable to take out insurance that covers any loss or theft of your baggage.
  • Plan to stay for at least 7 nights in order to get immersed in the full surfing experience. If you have more time, take another 3 days or more to check out more interesting places in the country.
  • Visit nearby cities or towns if the surf goes flat. You can visit the Souks in Agadir or even Marrakech if that swell forecast looks dismal.
