• Decide if proximity to night life or cities is important to you throughout your stay, or if you are looking for more of a remote retreat. Australia has many villa options that are beachfront, but the big differentiator for many of these options is the nightlife versus nature debate.
• Australia requires that you obtain a visa to enter the country. They are easy to obtain and are all electronic, but you will need a tourism visa or working holiday visa to enter the country. 
• If your goal is to spot famous Australian wildlife like kangaroos and koalas, head to the regions where they are located, like a sanctuary or preserve. Australia is a massive country, with it's wildlife is often regionally distributed and not just all over the place. You will likely see a lot of bats, possums, some snakes, lizards, plenty of spiders and other bugs. But if you want to see the iconic wildlife, you'll want to plan a trip to visit them.

While you’ve likely heard a lot about the ubiquitous kangaroo (yes, it’s the unofficial national animal), it’s not as likely that you’ve seen one idly grazing, in person. The opportunity is not to be missed! Other animals that are native to Australia include the Koala, mostly found in coastal areas; or the echidna, a spiny anteater that is considered the rarest animal in the world (also, interestingly, one of the egg-laying mammals); the platypus, that perplexing combination of duck, beaver and otter; as well as wombats, wallabies and dingoes (and who can resist saying those names out loud)—all of which are best observed in their natural, wild habitats. 

With over 50.000 kilometers of coastline and some of the clearest waters on Earth, Australia is every beach-lover’s paradise. The East Coast is much more crowded and has numerous white-sand beaches which are some of the best known in the world. If you prefer something more relaxing and remote you should visit Australia’s western coast. It is much quieter and in some places, you won’t find another person for miles.
