Eagle Pass Heli Skiing

Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada

Eagle Pass Heli is a heliskiing operator based in Revelstoke, British Columbia, running trips in the Monashee Mountains — a region known for deep, consistent snowfall and legendary tree skiing. Their defining feature is small-group heliskiing: they fly exclusively in groups of four, paired with the agile A-Star helicopter, which lets guides reach terrain and landings that larger operations can't access and lets each day's plan flex around the group actually on it. Their permit area spans a varied landscape deep in the Monashees, including expansive glaciers, alpine bowls, long chutes, open forests, and regenerating burns, with enough poor-weather terrain nearby that down days are rare. The operation is built around three touchpoints in Revelstoke: a downtown office (opened 2013), a purpose-built 5,800-square-foot Day Heli base (opened 2014) that serves as the meeting point for day and private guests, and the 12-bedroom Eagle Pass Lodge (opened 2017), located about 10 minutes outside downtown Revelstoke for multi-day guests. Eagle Pass Heli offers three main formats: Day Heli packages, multi-day Lodge packages, and Private packages, with seasonal specials (Deep December, Spring Heli) running at different points in the winter. The operation is geared toward expert backcountry skiers and snowboarders, and guest ability requirements are laid out on their own site for anyone assessing fit before booking.

Eleven Experience

Crested Butte, CO, United States

Eleven Experience is an adventure travel Operator, founded in 2011 and based in Crested Butte, Colorado, that pairs small, design-focused private lodges with expert-guided adventures in remote mountain destinations. Winter is the core of what they do: heliskiing in British Columbia, Iceland, and the Alps, cat skiing on their own private terrain outside Crested Butte, and guided off-piste skiing, ski touring, and resort skiing from two chalets in the French Alps. In British Columbia, Eleven Revelstoke Lodge is the base for heliskiing on a 300,000-acre tenure across the Monashee and Selkirk ranges, which Eleven says averages about 700 inches of snow a year. Programs are built around private helicopters: groups fly their own A-Star B3 with dedicated guides and a guaranteed minimum of daily flight time, at guest-to-guide ratios of 3:2 or 4:1, and some configurations offer unlimited vertical. The season runs mid-December through March. In northern Iceland, Eleven Deplar Farm flies guests straight from its own helipads onto 1.8 million acres of the Troll Peninsula, about 30 miles south of the Arctic Circle, with a heliski season that runs from the end of February into early June and the long days of the midnight sun. Every stay at Deplar during heliski season includes heliskiing. For U.S. skiers, Eleven's flagship Scarp Ridge Lodge and neighboring Sopris House in downtown Crested Butte connect directly to Irwin, Eleven's 1,000+ acre private cat-skiing terrain 13 miles west of town, which averages 450+ inches of snow a year. Conditions permitting, the snowcat picks guests up at the lodge's front door. In France, Chalet Hibou and Chalet Pelerin sit in the Tarentaise Valley hamlet of Le Miroir, surrounded by seven ski resorts including Val d'Isère and Tignes, with locally based IFMGA-certified guides and Eleven's heliskiing operation just across the border in Italy. What ties it all together is the lodge model. Eleven's properties are small, typically 4 to 13 rooms, and most can be booked by the room or bought out entirely. Stays come with chef-prepared meals, saunas, hot tubs, and wellness amenities, and an Experience Team that plans each itinerary before arrival. Outside of winter, Eleven also runs fly-fishing lodges in Chilean Patagonia and on New Zealand's South Island, summer adventures from several of their ski lodges, and Bahama House on Harbour Island in The Bahamas.

Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing

Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada

Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing (STHS) has been running heli-skiing operations out of Revelstoke, British Columbia, since 1978, when Swiss mountain guide Peter Schlunegger — a fourth-generation guide whose family's mountain guiding roots trace back to 1899 in nearby Rogers Pass — staged the operation's first exploratory flights near the Tangiers River in the Selkirk Mountains. Now in its fifth decade, STHS holds the largest heli-ski tenure in Revelstoke: over 500,000 acres and 400+ established runs across the Selkirk and Monashee ranges, bordered by two national parks and averaging 40 to 60 feet of snowfall a year. STHS operates from the Coast Hillcrest Hotel, just minutes from downtown Revelstoke, where guests check in, gear up, and fly directly from the property. The operation runs a mixed helicopter fleet — the Airbus H125 (A-Star), Bell 212, and Bell 412 — flown in partnership with Wildcat Helicopters of Kelowna, BC, allowing STHS to match aircraft to group size, from small private parties to larger multi-day groups. Packages range from single-day outings to week-long multi-day trips, along with private charters, heli-assisted touring for experienced backcountry skiers, and Pinnacle packages that pair private heli-skiing with luxury partner-lodge stays. All guiding is provided by ACMG/IFMGA-certified guides, and every package includes use of STHS's powder ski and snowboard fleet along with emergency medical and helicopter evacuation coverage. Since 2007, STHS has operated as part of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, giving guests the option to pair their heli-skiing with lift access to North America's highest vertical descent (5,620 feet) at the neighboring resort. STHS is led today by General Manager Dave Pehowich, who joined the operation in 1996 and worked his way up through guiding and operations before taking the role in 2022.
