Coast Range Heli
Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
Coast Range Heli-Skiing operates out of Whistler, British Columbia, running helicopter-accessed skiing and riding across the Coast Mountains. Their tenure spans 200,000 acres over 15 zones — 24 times the size of Whistler Blackcomb — with alpine terrain up to 9,000 feet and runs exceeding 4,000 vertical feet, plus sub-alpine and tree skiing on days when conditions call for it.
Groups stay small by design: no more than four guests per group, and a maximum of three groups sharing a helicopter on any given day, which keeps wait times down and runs frequent. Every day heli-skiing package includes six guaranteed runs, with additional runs added at no extra cost when conditions, fitness, and time allow. Guests can book a Semi-Private day (sharing the helicopter with one other group), a fully Private day with exclusive use of the aircraft, or a Single's Session — a single seat that pairs solo skiers and riders into a group.
For those who want to combine the descent with the climb, Coast Range also runs Heli-Assisted Ski Touring, flying guests into the Mt. Currie zone for a day of skinning and skiing, or a multi-day version that overnights at their backcountry Yurt above the Pemberton Valley. The company references summer offerings — heli-accessed mountain biking and separate Yurt bookings for hiking and mountaineering — in its site navigation as well, extending its season beyond winter.
All trips are flown with Blackcomb Helicopters, using Airbus H125 aircraft, and guided by ACMG/IFMGA-certified guides. Guests are equipped with avalanche safety gear (transceiver, airbag, shovel, probe, and radio) and, for day heli-skiing, complimentary powder skis or snowboards, so there's little to arrange beyond showing up ready to ski.
