About
Majestic Heli Ski is a heliskiing Operator based in Glacier View, Alaska, about 115 miles from Anchorage, with terrain in both the north-central Chugach Mountains and the Talkeetna Mountains. Owner Njord Rota started the company in 2011 after returning from flying helicopters in Afghanistan. He's both a ski guide and a helicopter pilot, which is rare in the industry, and he's the current President of the Heli-Ski U.S. Association. After researching parts of Alaska that commercial heliskiing hadn't reached yet, he settled on the north-central Chugach for its abundance of flyable days, its easy access to Anchorage and the road system, and its reach into the Talkeetnas. Majestic is family owned and operated, and Njord bought the lodge they run from in 2019. Their terrain covers 2 million acres across the two ranges: bowls, spines, ramps, couloirs, and long glacier runs between 2,500 and 10,000 feet of elevation, with most runs falling between 1,500 and 4,000 vertical feet. The lodge sits at 3,000 feet, which Majestic says makes it the highest-elevation heliski lodge in Alaska, and it's slightly inland from the coast, where clouds tend to linger. Majestic credits that location with more consistent snow and more flyable days, and reports being out heliskiing more than 80% of the time. The helicopter is based right at the lodge, so travel time to the terrain stays short. The core of the offering is unlimited vertical. Majestic doesn't cap how much guests ski or charge extra for vertical, and every multi-day package carries a guaranteed minimum backed by a credit or partial refund if weather or a mechanical problem keeps a group short of it. All-inclusive packages run 3, 4, or 7 days from February through April, covering transfers from Anchorage, lodging, meals, guiding, powder skis or a snowboard, and a full avalanche safety kit. Groups are small, with up to 4 guests and a guide in an Airbus A-Star B3, and Majestic flies only A-Stars rather than larger helicopters that carry 10 guests at a time. Private packages give a group its own dedicated helicopter, pilot, and guides, plus a stay in the Moose Chalet, and one-day trips are offered when seats are available. Majestic also hosts themed weeks, including the Slaydies Women's Camp, led by their female guides, and a week of nightly bluegrass in the lodge with the band Hot Buttered Rum. When the Alaska season ends, Majestic follows winter south. From July to October, they partner with El Azufre Mountain Lodge in Argentina's Central Andes for heli and cat skiing trips, with a dedicated snowcat as backup so guests ski every day. Safety runs through the whole operation. Majestic is a member of the Heli-Ski U.S. Association, a voluntary membership that requires passing an outside audit of everything from pilot training and aircraft safety to snow stability analysis and emergency response planning. Every guest goes through hands-on avalanche rescue and helicopter safety training before flying. Back at the lodge, Majestic keeps a 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio, the chefs cook everything from scratch, and days start with complimentary yoga and end in the hot tub. Majestic is carbon neutral through NativeEnergy and has installed a 43 kW solar power system.

Majestic Heli Ski Lodge
The Majestic Heli Ski Lodge, also called the Majestic Valley Lodge, is Majestic Heli Ski's home base in Glacier View, Alaska. It sits in the heart of the Northern Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains, 115 miles (about 2.5 hours) from Anchorage International Airport, and the helicopter flies directly from the lodge. At 3,000 feet, Majestic says it's the highest-elevation heliski lodge in Alaska. Njord Rota set up the operation here in 2011 and bought the lodge in 2019. Majestic shuttles guests from the Anchorage airport at scheduled times, and guests who rent a car can drive straight to the front door on Highway 1. Guests on Majestic's 3-, 4-, and 7-day packages and hosted weeks stay here between ski days. Rooms are double occupancy, with single rooms sometimes available at extra cost. The lodge has a hot tub and a deck with mountain views, a full-service bar pouring homemade infused martinis, Alaskan craft beer, and wine, and a retail shop stocked with Arc'teryx, Hestra, and Smith gear plus essentials like hand warmers, heated socks, and ear protection for the helicopter. There's also ski repair and tuning, boot dryers, gear storage, fiber-optic high-speed internet, satellite TV, and cell service. Mornings start with complimentary yoga and stretching led by certified instructors, and massage therapy is available after skiing at extra cost. The chefs make everything from scratch, with dinners built around local favorites like Alaskan salmon, king crab, and halibut. The lodge also offers nordic skiing, skeet shooting, and snow-bikes, and on a clear night guests might catch the Northern Lights.

The Moose Chalet is Majestic Heli Ski's new luxury accommodation in Alaska, reserved for guests on their Private Package. Private groups already get their own dedicated helicopter, pilot, and guides, and the chalet gives them their own space off the snow too, with 4 ensuite bedrooms, a private sitting area, a deck, and a fireplace. Private groups fly either as a single load of 3 guests with 2 guides or as two loads of up to 8 guests with 2 guides, and each day is planned around what the group wants to ski, including remote parts of Majestic's terrain that few people ever see. Meals from Majestic's culinary team, transfers from Anchorage, guiding, and safety gear are included in the package.

El Azufre Mountain Lodge is Majestic Heli Ski's partner lodge for Southern Hemisphere heliskiing, set in a remote valley deep in Argentina's Central Andes and surrounded by volcanoes and peaks over 13,000 feet. It's where guests stay on Majestic's Argentina trips, which run from July to October. Getting there means a ground transfer of about 4 hours from the Mendoza airport to the helipad in Los Molles, then a scenic 20-minute helicopter flight into the lodge. Majestic can arrange the transfers, along with stays in the Mendoza wine region before or after the trip. The lodge hosts up to 14 guests at a time, which keeps it feeling like a private ski area. It was designed as a sustainable ski resort, and guests eat homemade meals built on locally grown food, paired with Argentine wines like Malbec. The valley gets more than 450 inches of snow a year, and its 30,000 acres of terrain include descents of more than 5,000 vertical feet straight to the base. A dedicated snowcat backs up the helicopter so guests ski every day, even when weather keeps the helicopter grounded, and groomed trails are available too.
