About
Northern Escape Heli-Skiing operates out of Terrace, British Columbia, deep in Canada's Skeena Mountains near the Alaska border. Founded in 2004 by four friends — John, Benny, Teddy, and Dave — the company has grown into one of the most decorated names in the sport, voted World's Best Heli-Ski Operator by the World Ski Awards for four consecutive years running. Guests choose from three distinct lodge experiences, all built around the same core offering: unlimited vertical, small groups, snowcat backup on storm days, and access to one of the largest heli-skiing tenures in the world at roughly 3,373 square kilometres. Yellow Cedar Lodge is the classic, rustic basecamp and Northern Escape's best-value package. Northern Escape Mountain Lodge is a newer, more refined property with a more exclusive pace. And the Skeena Spey Private Package hands a group its own private lodge, helicopter, and guides for full customization. Each option delivers the same guided access to the Skeena and Kitimat Mountain Ranges' alpine bowls, glaciers, couloirs, and tree skiing, with roughly 100 feet of snowfall a year across a season that runs from mid-December through April. Trips are sold as multi-day packages — 3, 4, 5, or 7 days, depending on the lodge — rather than single-day outings, and every package includes gourmet meals, professional guiding, powder ski/snowboard equipment, and all avalanche safety gear. Northern Escape is just 90 minutes by air from Vancouver, followed by a short shuttle or helicopter transfer to the lodge, so guests spend more of their trip on snow and less of it traveling.
